Compare K-12 students, schools and districts

Edwin Analytics is a secure reporting and data analysis tool that gives authorized school, district and state level users access to information and reports meant to support improvements in teaching, learning and educational outcomes. It also integrates longitudinal data from early education through post-secondary education and the workforce.

Please note that access to Edwin Analytics is restricted, since some reports contain sensitive student-level data. Visit the Edwin FAQ page for more information.

This dashboard displays longitudinal wage outcomes of Massachusetts students by district, including College and Career Outcomes, Average Annual Earnings by Student Group, and Average Annual Earnings by Industry.

Wage records are obtained from the Massachusetts Department of Unemployment Assistance (DUA) using a secure, anonymized matching process with limitations. For details on the process and suppression rules, please refer to the Employment and Earnings of High School Graduates dashboard itself.

This dataset contains student enrollment data for all Massachusetts public schools and districts since 1994. It is a wide file with three groups of columns representing the following enrollment indicators:

• Number of students by grade, including pre-kindergarten (PK), kindergarten (K) and special education beyond grade 12 (SP)
• Percent of students by race and gender
• Number and percent of students in student groups: First Language Not English, English Learners, Students with Disabilities, High Needs, Low Income, and Economically Disadvantaged

Economically Disadvantaged was used 2015-2021. Low Income was used prior to 2015, and a different version of Low Income has been used since 2022. Please see the DESE Researcher's Guide for more information.

This dataset displays state and district teacher indicators (In-Field or Experienced) by race and ethnicity with rows for different years. It was created as part of a dashboard supporting the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's commitment to provide all students with a racially diverse and culturally responsive educator workforce.

Selected Teacher Indicators: This displays the number and percent of teachers who are licensed in the subject area(s) they teach (In-Field), as well as the number and percent of teachers who have been teaching in a Massachusetts public school for at least three years (Experienced). Note: The In-Field report uses end-of-year EPIMS; the most recently available data are displayed.

This dataset contains the same data that is also published in the Teacher Indicators table on our Educator Dashboard.

The following dataset includes programs of different types that are licensed and/or funded. The dataset encompasses data pulled quarterly from EEC’s Licensing Education Analytic Database (LEAD).

Licensed programs are programs that are subject to licensing regulations by EEC, which include meeting health and safety standards, training and professional development requirements, criminal and background checks, and maintaining appropriate ratios of educators to children. Licensed programs can include any of the following: family child care and group and school age programs. For more information on licensed programs click here.

Funded programs are programs that are not subject to licensure by EEC but have the approval from EEC to provide subsidized child care for low-income or at-risk families. Funded programs can include any of the following: public schools; private schools; religious schools; and government, tribal, and military child care programs. The types of programs in this dataset include:

• Family Child Care is child care provided in someone's home where the caretaker is not related to the children.
• Group and School Age programs provide early education and care for young children in a non-residential setting such as a school or community center. These programs include several types of early education and care such as: - Center-based care for infants, toddlers, preschool, or kindergarten age children; Early Head Start and Head Start programs; and Out-of-school time programs that operate before/after school or during the summer.
• Public school programs take place in public school settings and are overseen by the local school district. Public school programs are included here if they enrolled at least one child receiving an EEC subsidy.
• Private school programs take place in private schools. Private school programs are included here if they enrolled at least one child receiving an EEC subsidy.

This dataset shows the percentage of students who graduated from Massachusetts public schools with a regular high school diploma within 4 or 5 years. It is a long file that contains multiple rows for each school and district, with rows for different years and different student groups.
