This dataset displays educator preparation data by race and ethnicity with rows for different years. It was created as part of a dashboard supporting the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's commitment to provide all students with a racially diverse and culturally responsive educator workforce.

Educator Preparation: This displays the number and percent of candidates who enrolled and completed their program in the program year. This is based on the individuals' furthest, or most recently reported, point in the selected program year as reported by the organization.

This dataset displays educator licensure data by race and ethnicity with rows for different years. Educator Licensure: This displays the number and percent of individuals who were issued an emergency, provisional, and initial license within the school year (September 1 to August 31).

This dataset displays MTEL (Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure) data for each test subject by race and ethnicity with rows for different years. It was created as part of a dashboard supporting the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's commitment to provide all students with a racially diverse and culturally responsive educator workforce.

MTEL Pass Rates: This displays the number of candidates (i.e., test takers) who took the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure and the percent who passed during the program year.

The Performance Measurement Reporting System (PMRS) is designed to fulfill the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education’s statutory obligation to “promote accountability for effective management and stewardship of public funds and to achieve and demonstrate measurable educational outcomes” (MGL, Chapter 15a, Section 7).

This report is updated annually each spring and provides a comprehensive examination of the performance of each of Massachusetts’ community colleges and state universities on a set of key indicators focused on:

• Access & Affordability
• Student Success & Completion
• Workforce Alignment
• Fiscal Stewardship

These indicators are tracked with attention to equity gaps for underserved students wherever possible.

The metrics are foundational to assessment and accountability, having been incorporated into annual presidential evaluations, program evaluation, and campus- and system-level strategic planning, including the Strategic Plan for Racial Equity
and Strategic Public Higher Education Financing.

The Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO) is an experimental data product from the US Census Bureau containing earnings outcomes and employment flows for recent graduates of partner colleges and universities. These statistics are generated by matching university transcript data with a national database of jobs. Only graduates who earn at least the annual equivalent of full-time work at the prevailing federal minimum wage and work three or more quarters in a calendar year are included.

This dataset contains pre-kindergarten and kindergarten enrollment data for all Massachusetts public and charter schools and districts since 2017. Both the number and percent of pre-kindergarten and full-day kindergarten students are reported by student group. The number of part-time, tuitioned, and full-time kindergarten students are also reported by the same student groups.

This dataset contains provides data on student mobility since 2008. Mobility is defined as those students transferring into or out of public schools, districts, or the state. Mobility rates are not reported for enrollments of fewer than 6.

Intake rate measures the number of students that enroll in the state, a district, or school after the beginning of the school year. Churn rate measures the number students transferring into or out of a public school or district throughout the course of a school year. Mobility Rate Report

This dataset contains the number and percentage of Massachusetts public school students who were retained in each grade since 2018. Student retention is defined as repeating the grade in which a student was enrolled during the previous school year.

Student Retention Report

This dataset provides the number and percentage Massachusetts public high school students who dropped out of high school since 2008. It also includes the percentage of dropouts by grade.

Dropout rate is calculated as the percentage of students in a given grade who dropped out of school between July 1 and June 30 prior to the listed year and who did not return to school by the following October 1. Dropouts are defined as students who leave school prior to graduation for reasons other than transfer to another school. Dropout rates are not reported for any student group where the number of students is less than 6.

Dropout Report

This dataset contains the number and percentage of Massachusetts public school students completing at least one arts course in grades K-12 since 2018. Arts courses are reported in the Student Course Schedule (SCS) system and align with the Massachusetts Arts Curriculum Framework. For a full list of courses and subjects, see the Arts Course List.

Beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, the arts course list was updated the "Media Arts" category. In addition, a number of arts courses were reclassified from the "General Arts" category to "Visual Arts" to more closely align to the industry standard. Since 2022, courses are no longer assigned to the "General" category.
